Eighteenth Riley Fletcher Basic Municipal Law Seminar Breaks Records

The Riley Fletcher Basic Municipal Law Seminar was held for the eighteenth time on February 8-9, 2018. This event marked the beginning of a new bi-annual schedule for the seminar, which will now be held in the years between state legislative sessions.

For the first time in many years, the seminar was held at a venue other than the Texas Municipal Center in Austin.  Larry Casto, City Attorney for Dallas, welcomed approximately 120 on-site and 60 videocast attendees to Dallas City Hall for the seminar.  The record-setting 180 registered attendees almost doubled the attendance of the 2016 seminar.

In conjunction with the seminar, TCAA held its first regional networking social on Thursday evening at The Green Door Public House.  An estimated 45 attendees and area sponsors enjoyed a taco buffet and cash bar while taking advantage of the opportunity to meet other municipal attorneys from around the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
